Sugár Repce, ”Riva”, arrived in Finland in December 2006. We had made a cooperation agreement with our friend Anita Thélen and as a result of this Riva joined our pack. Anita owns a Finnish bred, very handsome vizsla male called Canine Cool Boy ”Cona”. We had provisional plans for Cona being Riva’s future fiancé. Midsummer 2009 Riva gave birth to a small Golden puppy, but because of its delay in development, we had to let the puppy to join to dog-heaven. The cooperation agreement with Anita has been ended, however Cona & Riva-litter never came true.

Riva has turned out to be a sly little vizsla. She has strong nerves and is completely ease with all the plays and games our girls invite her to join. At home Riva is allmost unobtrusive and does not do herself a big number. However she has her own strong personality and she is versatile and extremely hard working practical hunting dog.

Riva has participated in couple of dog shows in Finland and two in Hungary. You can´t find foreing-events in her databases so here are those results:
- European Winner Show 2008 (Hungary, Budapest, judge: Czeglédi Attila, Hungary); EXC, Intermediate Class3
- Hungarian VizslaClub’s Show 2008 (Hungary, Budapest, judge: Hans Müller, Germany); Intermediate Class VG.

We have let Riva live a bit like a wild child…
Every day obedience she has learned at home and easily but with all the other things we have left her quite a lot space.

Riva got a Youth Class 3rd Prize in her very first field trial. She was 11 months old. She also got a wandering trophy ”Vuoden Nuori Lupaus” (Rookie of the Year) which is presented by the kennel Ruskakedon (dealt in German Pointer Club’s annual meeting).

The second time Riva took part to a field trial in Youth Class was Junkkari 2007 -event. In this event she didn’t get a result because "there was too much for little Vizsla to handle". I guess that was the turning point when she actually lost her ”brakes”. Before that event she handled the bird situations impeccably but after she has had the gear full speed...

At the moment the independence and width of the search in the field are surely more than sufficient. Riva got the nice, stylish, point but after the shot she´s little too "hot". We’ll see how we manage to work with her in bird situations but I think its never will be 100% sure so high prizes from field trials can be forgotten.
